Valuation and Deal Evaluation Tool



The first section of this tool will allow you to copy>paste your sales forecasts for the US, Top 5 EU and Japan for any product in development and then type in the following assumptions to generate a valuation for the product:

Name of product
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) as a % of price
Discount rate for Product owner
Discount rate for Product in-licensor
Product Launch Year
Product Generic Entry Year
Marketing and promotion (as % of peak sales) – these percentages should be typed in by year from launch
Development/ registration/ mkt devt cost
Current development status and PoS at each stage of development (PoS from credible sources are provided, but may be overwritten)
As the output, you will be able to see the Expected Value of the net present value

In the second section of the tool, you can conduct deal evaluations by typing in the following assumptions:

Upfront payment
Milestone payments
Royalty %
As the output, you will be able to see the value of the deal to the product owner and the product in-licensor

Please note that all development, registration and market development costs are assumed to be cash outflows for the in-licensor
